10 scientifically good things about laughing!

This time, I wanted to write about a very important theme: human laughter. However, it is not meant to introduce here how to take “laughter”. To the last, it is a consideration that identifies the essence of the phenomenon of “laughter” that can be said to be unique to humans. And that has been considered difficult for many years.

 10. good things about laughing!

This blog has been paying attention to the duality of human beings, rationality and irrationality . And the latest research (laughs) in this blog has revealed that this kind of mysterious phenomenon of “laughing” can be deciphered from this point. I want to write it down from now on.

1. If you laugh all the way, calories are  consumed considerably

Laughing is also called “jogging of the heart”, the heart rate increases by 10-20%, and the calorie consumption becomes 30-40 kcal if you continue to laugh for 10-15 minutes.
As a specific example, if a person weighing 50 kg walks for 10 minutes at a normal speed, about 26 kcal is consumed. In other words, laughter calories can be higher than walking. Even if you laugh lightly, you can consume about 10kcal in 10 minutes.

2.Laughter improves short-term memory

Research has shown that laughter improves memory. Loma Linda University in California has 20 people aged 60-70 taking a memory test, then divided into two groups, one sitting without doing anything for 20 minutes and the other with 20 interesting videos I watched for a minute.

Then, when the memory test was performed again for both groups, the group that saw the funny video clearly showed better memory than before. The rate of improvement was 20.3% for those who sat silently, compared with 43.6% for those who saw the video. In addition, the group who saw the movie also found that the stress hormone cortisol decreased.

3. Laughter lowers the risk of heart disease

Laughing against heart disease can be the “best good medicine”.

According to a study by Lennox Hill Hospital, laughing has the effect of reducing stress hormones and inflammation of the arteries and increasing good cholesterol, reducing the risk of arteriosclerosis and other causes of heart attacks. He also knows that people who have heart disease don't laugh 40% more than those who don't.

Since laughter helps prevent heart disease for 24 hours, I want to remember to laugh every day.

4. Laughter boosts immunity

According to the National Cancer Institute, laughter suppresses stress hormone secretion and keeps the functions of natural killer cells, T cells, B cells, and lymphocytes working in the immune system optimal. So if you laugh, you will heal your disease faster.

5. Laughter lowers blood sugar
                            (makes it harder to rise)

Laughter has a positive effect on people with diabetes. A study by the University of Tsukuba showed that if 19 diabetic subjects were each presented with a boring lecture and an interesting comic after each meal, it would be difficult to increase blood sugar levels when they see an interesting comic.

6. Laughter improves sleep

Laughing at night produces more melatonin that causes sleep. Melatonin has the effect of causing the body to recognize that it is ready to sleep by lowering its pulse, body temperature, blood pressure, etc., and then turning it to sleep.

7. The brain unconsciously detects smirk and true laughter

Knowing the real feelings of the conversation partner may be the ability necessary to survive without being fooled.

In an experiment at University College London, when subjects were shown random videos of laughter and real laughter, it became clear that the medial prefrontal cortex of the brain became active only when laughter was heard. It was. The brain unconsciously distinguishes between laughter and true laughter and understands the emotions of the conversation partner.

8. Laughter relieves pain

The Swiss research team compared how long the pain could be tolerated with and without showing the subject a comedy movie. As a result, I found that watching comedy movies can withstand pain for a long time.

This is thought to be due to the fact that endorphins, which have a sedative effect, are secreted from the brain and muscular tension is alleviated by laughter.

9.Laughter is the best way to deal with things

As you can see, what is the best way to deal with this situation at the end, it is the attitude of “laughing”.

"What are you doing? Stupid ~ (laughs)"

Laughs with her husband. This method is really nice. His failure also comes to mind . Lonely is a positive feeling, a pleasant feeling, and no one would hate laughing. There seems to be research that laughing is good for your health, but it can be said that it should be so if you stop studying.

Whether the key to laughter can be affirmed
I think there is a possibility that you can laugh enough if you lose your nuts and become soaked. If the river is fast and your husband has flown, then it's not natural that you laugh. Also, if you are hungry enough to die, you won't be crazy. Can you affirm the key to whether you can laugh? It depends on.

The reason for laughter lies in the collapse of rationality, but saying that rationality is broken means that my purpose cannot be achieved. So there is a high possibility of negative emotions, sadness and anger.

However, only when we take a positive attitude toward the situation, irrationality , it turns into a positive feeling of “laughter”. And that is probably a very sublime thing that only humans can afford, which adds value to seemingly meaningless irrationality .

10.When tickled, the mouse laughs

Research has revealed that when mice are tickled, they laugh out loud like people. However, the rat's laughter cannot be heard by humans. It ’s too high.

You can hear the laughing voices of mice observed with a dedicated device in the following video. The messed up sound is the laughing voice of the mouse.

Tickling is the most fundamental act of pleasure, and many mammals as well as humans respond positively.
