Octopus - Gamepad, Mouse, Keyboard Keymapper

This application allows you to operate the buttons assigned to the touch panel with the controller.

Although such apps existed before, I think that there were only maker-specific apps and those that required Root authority.
However, "Octopus" does not need Root privileges, and on the contrary, it is a rugged thing that can be used without entering ADB commands.

Also, by using either ADB commands or Root privileges, it is possible to respond to comfortable aiming with the mouse.

Controller setting procedure


1. Connect controller

Connect a controller that supports USB or Bluetooth connection.
For example, connect the PS4 controller with USB.
(Bluetooth connection is also possible for Xperia)


2. Launch game from Octopus

Start Octopus on your Android device and tap the + mark.

A list of applications is displayed. Tap "Add" next to the game you want to play with the controller ("PUBG Mobile").

A game icon will be added, so tap it.

The game starts.

In addition, since the explanation of the function at the time of the keyboard is displayed when it starts, tap "OK".

3. Button assignment

* Some applications have presets, so this step may not be necessary.
(Example: Knives Out etc.)

After launching the game application, if there is a controller setting screen, etc., display it.
For PUGB, tap "Settings" → "Operation settings" → "Custom" to display.
If there is no setting screen, I think that it is better to do it on the actual play screen etc.

After opening the settings, tap "Operation settings" → "Custom"

When the key layout is displayed like this, tap the Octopus icon at the top left.

When you tap the icon, the following menu is displayed.

You can add multiple "keys". After tapping the "key" button, tap the button you want to assign to the controller (A / B or any other button) to assign that key.

Also, "keys" that have already been assigned buttons can be reassigned by tapping again.

Also, you can move the added keys and sticks by tapping and moving.

As an example, I assigned the following to shooting (attack), change viewpoint, move, and squat.
When you're done, tap "fit" and test the game.

Let's check whether you can actually operate in this state.
After confirming the operation, assign another key.

The setting is now complete.

Mouse / keyboard connection procedure
By connecting a mouse and keyboard via USB / Bluetooth, you can reproduce the operation of a PC.
However, you can't do just a keyboard or a mouse, for example.

Connect mouse and keyboard
This time, I connected a Bluetooth keyboard and a USB mouse.

Octopus mode switching
After launching the game you want to operate from Octopus, tap the following button displayed on the screen to display the settings.

A menu is displayed. First, switch the mode.
Before the setting, the circled red circle should be the gamepad icon, so tap it.

Tap "Keyboard".

The mode switch is now complete.

Keyboard key settings
Start the game you want to operate from Octopus and display the key configuration screen in the same way as with a gamepad.

Then tap the "Octopus" button to display the settings.

When the menu is displayed, tap +.

Now that you can add keys, we will add keys.

Compass: Character key placement (WASD) for the movement of the
key: WASD other than the key (Q key, SPACE, SHIFT, etc.)
Bag Ando Map: inventory, key to open the map (requires a separate mapping)
quasars: The key to match the standard ※
Fire: Firing (attack) key (left mouse click)

* Aiming with a mouse is not possible unless standard keys are placed.
However, in the case of PUBG, aiming cannot be performed properly if it is placed in the standard place, so let's place it in a place where there is nothing.

If you add a key, you can assign it by pressing any key, and move the button to assign.

I arranged this way.

You can now operate with the keyboard.
However, since the mouse has not been set yet, it is not practical that you cannot attack and you must click and operate the aiming.

Follow the steps below to set the mouse.

How to AIM with a mouse
Octopus can improve performance with Root privileges or ADB commands.
Root privileges are not required for ADB commands, but the procedure must be performed each time the system is restarted.

When rooted
Start Octopus, tap "My" at the bottom right, and tap "High-grade mode".


Tap "Activate" and you will be asked for Root privileges.

In case of Magisk, tap "Permit" to complete.


When using ADB command

A PC with Windows is required.

Enable USB debugging on your smartphone and connect to PC with USB cable.
* If you search for USB debugging, it will come out immediately.


Next, download "Octopus Activator" from the to your PC.

Copy (decompress) the four files in the downloaded "OctActiveTool1.2.0.zip" to the desktop etc., and double-click "OctActiveTool.exe" to execute.

If it is not started by "SmartScreen", if you read the explanation and still want to execute it, click "Detailed information" and click "Execute".

When started, this screen will be displayed, so click `` Start ''


You will be asked for the manufacturer of the device. If there is a manufacturer in the list, click it.
If not, click an icon like "Other" at the bottom right.


Next, it explains how to enable USB debugging.
If you have already done so, skip it.


Finally, activation becomes possible, so click `` Activate ''


You are successful if you see this screen.


Try out the operation
Pressing the right mouse button once switches to aiming, and right-click again to switch to normal mouse mode.

Make sure you can use the keyboard and aim the mouse.
If you can not operate, please quit the game once and start again from Octopus.


By the way, I noticed when operating with the mouse, but when the mouse cursor moves to the edge of the screen, it can no longer be pointed in that direction.
In that case, you need to right-click once, move the cursor to the middle of the screen, and right-click.

Set mouse sensitivity

Tap the gear mark from the Octopus menu.

It is displayed as follows. You can adjust the sensitivity by adjusting the “Viewing angle sensitivity” bar.
